Helen Stikler, the director of Andre the Giant Has a Posse, and Reel Women, Tekgnar Skate Shop, and ATX Skate Team have combined forces to produce this showcase, which in addition to the short films, also features a live skateboard demo. The short films include “Sponsored,” a documentary filmed from skateboarder Mike Valleley’s point of view, by Wing Ko; “Beloved Son, Brother, in Memory Always a Champion: A Tribute to Jeff Phillips” by Scott Pellet; “Making Skateboards in New Russia,” an ethnographic film by Dag Yngvesson; “Thorn and Toad,” a video documentary by Tobin Telland; “Live and Let Ride,” a documentary about skateboarding girls, by Tara Cooper; and “Backwards for Worlds,” an experimental documentary by Cheryl Dunn.
