REVIEWED By Marjorie Baumgarten, Thu., Nov. 11, 1999
Wonderfully fun, albeit markedly chaotic and incoherent, Buckaroo Banzai is one of those movies that has earned a strong cult reputation on the basis of its mile-a-minute cross-cultural references and pseudoscientific mumbo jumbo. The hero, Buckaroo Banzai (Weller), is a neurosurgeon, who is also a physicist, race-car driver, and a rock & roll star. He also wrestles with enemy aliens. See what I mean?
