Cinematexas is a series of screenings, concerts, and events. Showcases include presentations (some in competition and some not) of student film work, international shorts, faculty screenings, and Conduit digital selections. Kicking things off on Wed (9/22) is a presentation by the Austin Cinemaker Co-op at 7pm at Austin Museum of Art (Laguna Gloria) of a film projection installation by Luke Savisky, the conclusion of windowfilm. by Aaron Valdez, live music by TikTok, and various Super-8 works. Highlights on Thu (9/23) include: a screening of films by jury members Jay Rosenblatt, Cauleen Smith, Lee Daniel, David Barker, Jim Mendiola, Gonzalo Gonzalez (5:45pm, Alamo Drafthouse); Miranda July's multimedia performance of her art piece Love Diamond (8pm, AMOA, Laguna Gloria); The Queer Show (midnight, Alamo Drafthouse); and various compilation showcases.
