Looking for something to do that's related to South by Southwest but out of the hustle and bustle of Downtown? Look no further than tonight's screening of Films for the Forest.
Films for the Forest is an international short film contest sponsored by the Austin-based nonprofit Rainforest Partnership. Currently in its fourth year, the contest will screen its winning short films from five continents starting at 7:30pm at the Carver Museum and Cultural Center, 1165 Angelina. A reception kicks off the evening at 6:30pm.
Judges for the event included Richard Linklater and Dana Wheeler-Nicholson, both fresh off appearances at the Texas Film Hall of Fame Awards, as well as Philippe Cousteau Jr. and Jay Duplass, all notable filmmakers and conservationists in their own right.
While the Films for the Forest screening and reception is a SXSW event, no badges or credentials are required.
