Triumph and tragedy this weekend at the TXRD Lonestar Rollergirls Calvello Cup championship. In a surprise upset, the Hellcats beat the seemingly unstoppable Cherry Bombs 44-35. But the bad news is that two skaters with the Cherry Bombs suffered fairly serious injuries.

This from Kristin West, aka Miso Vicious of this year's new champions:

"Yes, Cherry "the Law" Chainsaw broke her ankle (in 3 places) in a freak accident from giving Kate or Dye a whip, and Alison Chains tore a hamstring muscle really bad."
The league has already established a PayPal account to help with Cherry Chainsaw's medical bills.

We here at the Score wish both skaters a speedy and complete recovery.
