If you've seen Whip It but have never seen a real-life banked track roller derby bout, then this is your lucky weekend. The TXRD Lonestar Rollergirls bring their current season to a close with the 2009 Calvello Cup Championship.
The undefeated Cherry Bombs will be looking to complete their perfect season by taking home their first ever league title. But after getting to last year's finals only to see the Holy Rollers take the prize, the Hellcats didn't get this far to go home empty-handed two years in a row.
The night will also include a silent auction of skaters' bust casts for the Keep A Breast foundation (see a gallery of the works up for bids here).
The action kicks off at the Austin Convention Center on Saturday, Oct 10 (doors 6pm, first whistle at 7pm). Tickets $13 pre-sale or $15 at the door.
