The best runners, jumpers, and throwers from Texas' public schools gathered in Austin at UT's Myers Stadium June 5-6 for the UIL State Track & Field Championships, and Austin photographer Don Bender was there to capture the action for The Score, including shots of several Austin-area athletes.
Bender did an incredible job of not only capturing the action on the track, but also the pre- and post-competition emotions and the color and pageantry of the scene.
The spectacle is one of the most highly regarded high school meets in the nation, as Texas is a hotbed of track & field talent.
