Rockets Season Over, Yao Out for the Year

The Rockets are riding high on a 12-game winning streak heading into their Toyota Center matchup against the Washington Wizards this evening. Now, it looks like all they have accomplished of late is for naught. ESPN reports today that Yao Ming will be out for the season due to a stress fracture in his left foot that will require surgery. There is no question that Houston will be unable to compete in the West without their big man.

At least the Astros have started spring training and the Texans are looking to improve on their best-ever 8-8 season in the upcoming NFL draft. And there's always the back-to-back MLS Champions, Houston Dynamo, to feel good about.
