Earl Campbell Signs 'The Tyler Rose' Friday at BookPeople

Former Longhorn, Heisman Trophy winner, and Houston Oiler battering ram Earl Campbell will appear in person this Friday, Feb. 2 from noon to 3pm to sign copies of his biography, The Tyler Rose: The Earl Campbell Story, written by Paddy Joe Miller. The location for this signing is the BookPeople inside the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport terminal.

Campbell's career numbers and achievements are astounding. At the University of Texas he amassed 4,443 rushing yards, was an All American in 1975 and 1977 and won the Heisman Trophy in 1977. He was drafted as the No. 1 overall pick by the Houston Oilers in 1978 and won the Rookie of the Year award that year. He went to six consecutive Pro Bowls ('78-'83) and was a seven-time All Pro. He gained 9,407 rushing yards for the Oilers which ranks him 10th on the NFL's all-time list.

Miller's book follows Campbell from his upbringing in small-town Tyler, Texas, to his college career in Austin and his professional days as a Houston Oiler. Sounds like a must for any Longhorn, Oiler, or really any football fan residing in the great state of Texas.
