Hold Your Horses
DVDanger and Kickstart Your Weekend are taking a break
By Monica Riese, 12:00PM, Sun. Mar. 2, 2014
Not sure if you've heard, but there's a bit of a sizable event rolling into town this month.
We here on Team Screens (the few, the proud, etc.) are up to our collective eyeballs in South by Southwest scheduling and coverage, so we're putting a couple of our weekly columns on hiatus until after the storm has passed.
Richard Whittaker's DVDanger, in which our resident genre expert talks at length about recent releases from the horror and thriller fields, is slated to return Saturday, March 22. Furthermore, Kickstart Your Weekend, in which yours truly throws a little digital ink at a crowdfunding campaign for a local film, TV, or tech project, should be back online Friday, March 21.
We reserve the right to change our minds every eight minutes until those days arrive, but for now, that's the plan. Don't panic. Meanwhile, stay tuned to all our SXSW coverage at austinchronicle.com/sxsw or get microupdates from @ACScreens.
A note to readers: Bold and uncensored, The Austin Chronicle has been Austin’s independent news source for over 40 years, expressing the community’s political and environmental concerns and supporting its active cultural scene. Now more than ever, we need your support to continue supplying Austin with independent, free press. If real news is important to you, please consider making a donation of $5, $10 or whatever you can afford, to help keep our journalism on stands.
