Twitter is a funny place, y'know? And not just funny-peculiar – funny-haha, too.
Home to countless comedians – amateur, professional, and everyone in between – the platform's 140-character limit makes for a great outlet for quippy one-liners and snarky commentary. But never before has its comedic force been so concentrated as it will be this week in the inaugural Comedy Central #ComedyFest.
All this week, April 29-May 3, Twitter users following along with the hashtag #ComedyFest will be treated to all-stars' quips and six-second clips from Twitter video service Vine. It's a compact set, but one that suits the pace of today's Web world.
Scheduled events will feature such big-name comedy stars as Eugene Mirman (@EugeneMirman), Sean Patton (@mrseanpatton), and Gabriel Iglasias (@fluffyguy), plus 65 others. The full lineup is a thing of glory.
Things kick off tonight (well, in an hour, technically, at 4pm CT) with Mel Brooks joining the microblogging service as @MelBrooks. He'll be chatting with legend Carl Reiner (@CarlReiner) and Judd Apatow (@JuddApatow) in an event that will livestream online.
Tune in early and often, because things are bound to get silly.
