You're Never Too Old to Get 'Young'

It’s probably too soon yet for you to know first-hand how terrific Only the Young is – hell, it's only just opened in Austin today – but that shouldn’t stop you from planning to party like a true believer.

An intimate and immersive doc, Only the Young tracks the first loves and failed communications of three suburban California teenagers. But don’t let the setting three-states-to-the-left put you off: This is universal stuff that is also, incidentally, codirected by Austin native Elizabeth Mims.

We love this movie – maybe you gleaned that from our 4 star review and cover story? – and we think you will, too. Austinites can benefit from Mims’ Q&A presence at screenings this weekend (check the Violet Crown, exclusively running the film, for details), and tonight (2/22), the Austin Film Society and Cinema East will host an afterparty at Cheer Up Charlies from 10pm-2am.
