You Drink, You Drive, You Spill!
Bob Ray's PSAs for Drunk Drivers of Texas

Any day we can quote NOFX is a good day in our book, but this is just superweirdcool. Seems local auteur Bob Ray has shot some 13 Public Service Announcements for a group called Drunk Drivers of Texas. [Insert wacky spit-take visual here.]
According to Facebook transmissions from Ray (Hell on Wheels, Rock Opera, Crashcam Films), "D.D.T. is a registered non-profit with the goal of reducing DWIs. [Total Badass subject/South Austin figurehead] Chad Holt [is] the spokesman for the organization and they've had several public meetings where guest speakers discuss alternatives to drunk driving. They help provide info on alternative forms of transportation and they give out fifty free beers."
Ray continues, "I'm not sure it's actually in their charter, but they are cool with the drunk part, just not the driving part. I think part of the appeal of the organization is its unusual nature. They brought me on board to create the PSAs and the website. They loved the [Adam, Lawyer] Reposa commercials and wanted to create a campaign that was far-out and freaky and got people's attention [while stirring up] a discussion about DWI."
Consider that done. The three PSAs we've seen so far are mind-bending freakouts that could easily double as scary little snippets of past Sixteen Deluxe videos.
"I was interested in creating PSAs that didn't look or feel like like your mom or dad made them," says Ray. "I like the idea of making a PSA for drunks and stoners. We all make fun of PSAs anyway, why not have them be a gas in the first place?"
