Old Murder House Theatre takes the stage at Chaparral Ice

Ripley – Believe It or Not – on Ice

Hey, remember those crazy kids from the Old Murder House Theatre we chronicled back in June? They've announced their latest Eighties film to be adapted to a live-action production, and it's a doozy. Think Ice Capades meets goopy alien gore.

Actually, that's Aliens, and, yup, it's going to be on ice. The local theatre troupe, which has previously mounted productions of Jurassic Park and RoboCop, among others, will be taking over Chaparral Ice on Friday, Nov. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 19. Featured performers Kirk Johnson, Sam Eidson, Byron Brown, John Merriman, Nate Sakulich, and Josh Jones will be reinterpreting the 1986 classic with a gender-blind eye and a budget, we presume, substantially less than James Cameron's original $18 million. Not sure how they're going to explain ice skates in space, but we can't wait to find out.

More info, with handy link to ticket info (this will sell out), can be found here.
