Yes, Godzilla is most famous for wreaking havoc, laying waste to whole cities, yada yada, but he'll be a force for good at tonight's benefit screening at the Blue Starlite Drive-In.
Starting tonight, the Blue Starlite (2326 E. Cesar Chavez) and Austin Books & Comics are putting on GodzillaFest 2011 – two Mondays of Godzilla double features, plus a special appearance by Godzilla comic artist Matt Frank (Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters), and 50% of sales going to aid victims of the Japan tsunami and earthquake disasters.
Tonight's bill: Godzilla: King of the Monsters (9pm), Destroy All Monsters (11pm)
Monday, June 20: Mothra vs. Godzilla (9pm), Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster (11pm)
Tickets are $5 for pedestrian viewers and range $25-$45 for car space. Find out more here.
