The AggreGAYtor: January 28
What happened today in gay? Here’s your QILTBAG recap of queer news.
By David Estlund, 10:15AM, Tue. Jan. 28, 2014
The Grammys get waygay, Sochi pulls a pogrom, and Daft Punk gets us to like "Get Lucky" just one more time, as your AggreGAYtor whispers, "Come on out, gurl."
The Good
Mass weddings at the Grammys may be tacky, but it’s a damn good place to start.
The Disney Channel adds acknowledgement of not just one gay, but two!
Every nation and territory in Europe has decriminalized homosexual activity, thanks to Northern Cyprus.
Vladimir Putin may be too butch for figure skating, but The New Yorker isn’t.
Queer Nation is going after all the Olympic sponsors.
The Bad
Hillary Clinton hands her opponents a match and a fresh bottle of Benghazi kerosene.
The Fugly
Now-famous S.A. homophobe Elisa Chan and her sitting opponent Donna Campbell both oppose adoption rights (for people like us).
The queer people of Sochi have apparently all been put on trains and sent… somewhere.
It Came from the Tubes
Sorry we choose this clip, even though we were all sick of the song by autumn, and there was a blockbuster crazy gay/straight wedding at the Grammys too. The history-making wedding is online if you must, but please please please don’t click here, because you’ll be bummed out by something: SPOILERS BELOW:
