HO-liday Gifties: A Treasure in Our City

Treasure City Thrift's elephants are not only white, but affordable

HO-liday Gifties: A Treasure in Our City

Could Treasure City Thrift have timed or priced their 25¢ Sale: White Elephant Edition any better?

Even if you aren't on the last shekel of your holiday budget, there's no reason not to indulge in some good old-fashioned thrift mania during the holiday season. For many of us, the shekels, the bones, and even plug nickels/thin dimes are harder and harder to come by, so the timing of a sale like this is a gift in and of itself.

This weekend is Treasure City Thrift's special White Elephant Edition of their monthly 25¢ Sale. Bring a coupla rolls of quarters (and a roll of pennies for tax) and unload while you load up on gifts, decor, wrapping, and all kinds of seasonal affective crap you need and don't need, because, what the hell, it's a quarter.

TCT is a fabulous, collective of local volunteers. The entire op relies on volunteer service and donations and then turns all that goodness into savings for you. The stock turns over pretty regularly and sometimes the finds (aka the treasures) defy how freakin' cheap they are.

They posted a few teasers for this month's sale their Facebook page, but we are not going to even link to it, because there is one item we really, really, really want. And if it is still there by the time we get out this morning, we are on it. We're not even waiting for the 25¢ sale. We did, however, include their picture of this fabulous Monster. It is, after all, in the closet. And AFAWK, it is still available (YMMV). (Priced here, at $7.)

Totally unrelated, but we couldn't resist (and yes, the little screaming girl grew up to be Fergie):
