![My queer zine haul from Printed Matter](/imager/b/newfeature/815738/e6d2/zines.jpg)
No trip to New York is complete without a shopping experience at Printed Matter, the independent and artist bookstore in the heart of Chelsea. Recently Printed Matter held an exhibition of Queer Zines. Owner and art/fag/shaman/healer AA Bronson is a queer zine collector and published a reference compendium of the best queer zines this past Spring. For real, you need this. It is ESSENTIAL!!!!
But PM and AA aren't the only ones interested in queer zines, the Queer Zine Archive Project is in the process of digitalizing masses of queer zines.
So I've spent the last couple days' worth of downtime in NYC reading about queer zines and then actually perusing the zines over at QZAP. Somebody needs to dissertate this shit!
Favorite zines thusfar: Brat Attack, Fag School, Fuh Cole, Fertile, LaToya Jackson Magazine, Flaming Jewboy, Gendercide, Girls Like Us, Madonna/Ho, Milquetoast, Straight to Hell, They Shoot Homos, Don't They?, When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again
and more oh so much more
