Tweens v. Twinks
Tweens and twinks alert: Here comes one surreal homoerotic biopic.
By Andy Campbell, 1:14PM, Mon. Dec. 8, 2008
Robert Pattinson, who is the current vampiric wet-dream-of-choice for every teenage girl and gay boy, is set to play a young Salvador Dali in love with Frederico Garcia Lorca in an upcoming movie titled Little Ashes. The screenplay for the film won the Euroscript Award eight years ago(!), and is finally being realized on the silver screen.
This is my question: What will the 'tweens think?
Here's the trailer
A Poetic Post Script:
Lorca admitted, late in life, that he and Dali were lovers at one point, while Dali endlessly denied it. After Lorca was rejected by Dali he wrote Ode to Salvador Dali.
This is one of the final stanzas
But above all I sing a common thought/ that joins us in the dark and golden hours./ The light that blinds our eyes is not art./ Rather it is love, friendship, crossed swords.
