Eight Is Enough

By Kate X Messer, November 14, 2008, 10:38am, Qmmunity

This weekend's nationally coinciding protest against the success of anti-gay ballot initiatives may bear more fruit than simply our malcontent. Inspired by the success of the grassroots Obama campaign, a lot of folks are getting involved in social action for the first time.

We just received word from a group called 8 Was Enough. Here's what they sent:

8 Was Enough, a grassroots GLBTQ organization is forming. At this Saturday's protest, people will have the chance to sign up to receive information about further events. We hope to build a large group of people who can count on one another to reach out and stand up for equality – for EVERYONE! – in our communities. All politics is local! Each of us has only one voice, but the more voices willing to call for equality, the louder that call will be heard in each of our communities. Please sign up to help make that call louder and build on the momentum from this protest! NOTE: We won't spam you, and we won't share your information without your consent. When you sign up, you're just saying it's okay for us to tell you something's happening, and to solicit your help in the next step to full equality for all.

So look for the 8 Was Enough kids and sign up.
