Recombinate media man Robert Rauschenberg passed away at his home in Captiva Island, Florida, last Monday, May 12. He was 82. Creating lush visual symphonies with the entirety of pop culture his palette, Rauschenberg had immeasurable influence on current culture's love of pastiche, collage, and found art. He was born in 1925 in Port Arthur, Texas. The Museum of the Gulf Coast features a permanent gallery of 21 of the Texan artist's works.
