Comin' down South? Bi? South by?

Oh me oh my oh mi. It is upon us y'all, and I feel gayer than ever.

Just looked at the newest issue of Butt Magazine, after a riveting night of ladies night bartending at Rain (thanks to those who came to the patio) and wonder how they got all those pictures of naked drummers? Will put in a query.

Then, I got the schedule for GaybiGayGay (Sun., March 16, 10am-?, 604 Kitty) and about squealed right out of my pants. Good stuff, like Hot as Shits, and Dynasty Handbag (who I saw at CampCamp's Bath House, dripping wet after a hot tub fully-clothed jack-knife), The Shondes, Scream Club, Little Teeth, Stanley Roy & the Pig ***kers and even (remember?) Nicky Click. Wow. Out in a backyard, hoping the cops don't show up. Art Fags. I love. With DJ sets for dance party queer action by the likes of Lynne T and JD Samson.

If you know and love Lynne T (of Lezzies on X Canadian fame) come to my party, MEGALOLZ (Thu., March 13, 10pm-4am, Cockpit, 113 San Jacinto). She's popping the night off for other great acts (not all gay but mostly flaming) like B(2), Shunda K of Yo Majesty (she gay) with DJ Orion (too bad he ain't), NBD (gay enough), Diskjokke (totally not gay but dancing gets homo), and John Gomi (er, gay doesn't describe ...). Fun Lineup, with new copies of Butt Magazine scattered about to skew your hairy ass SXSW viewing ratio. As it should be.

Also at The Cockpit, shit is fun over there all during the festival. Namely, it's ATXreme, and it's 70 bands over the week, all day long, with a tag line as good as the lineup: "Atxremely Loud. Axtremely Free." Check their site for full deet-deets.

Oh boy. So the back of the new Butt Magazine looks like this. And for some reason, hairy ass makes me excited for the Chain Drive's SXS&M with tons of amazing bands, bearing it up and promising not to shave. The lineup is extensive and so is the boner factor. Rumor has it, Yo Majesty is sprinkled into that schedule.

As you can see, it's on. Like Donkey Kong. Like Jackie Chan and James Brown. Like your mom. And it's about time.
