MILM (Moms I'd Like to … Ummmm … Marry)

The lead item this week in Queerty is about Michigan's Triangle Foundation, a nonprofit which is lobbying to pass Matt's Safe Schools Law, similar to Texas' Dignity for All Students Act and Corinne's Law.

We'd planned on blogging about all this even before we learned (ahem, rather late in the game) about UT and ET's Student Action Summit which occurred today (Sunday) and will culminate in some good old fashioned lobbying down at the Capitol tomorrow (Monday).

We love when we are in sync with Queerty, as they are personal heroes of ours. We'll pre-emptively save you the trouble of calling us Queerty wannabes, as we acknowledge that, while we defer to them re: blogging all things queerly, we will never be as dishy nor edgy (although we know of at least one local PSO that already wants to kick our ass, that's gotta count for something) nor fabulous. Can't a girl have a dream?

Anyway, today's sessions at UT were pretty informative. COLAGE (Children of Lesbians & Gays Everywhere) screened a student-produced film called In My Shoes: Stories of Youth with LGBT Parents, which includes vignettes told from the perspective of the kids in these very courageous families, especially this one with this very cool 16-year-old girl who goes down to the county office with her two (very hot) moms and goes totally off (in a very decorous and thoughtful manner) on the county supervisor -- or whomever that pasty white dude was -- who wouldn't marry her two (very, very hot) moms. And it was Valentine's Day, no less.
