Over 250 speakers and 100 panels announced for October green fest

The sun may be blistering, but it's already time to think about Autumn greens: SXSW Eco has just announced its schedule for the 2013 conference.
SXSW Eco may not have the rock'n'roll roar, Silicon Valley lustre or Hollywood glamor of the main festival, and it may even be at the opposite end of the year (unlike the school-themed SXSWedu) but as it enters its third year the green-tinged conference is establishing more of a global reputation
The fifth limb of the ever-growing SXSW tree has already announced Robin Chase CEO of car sharing service Buzzcar, and Adam Werbach, the former president of the Sierra Club and now founder of freecycling servive Yerdle. Now they've added over 250 speakers and 100 sessions.
(For the full list of speakers, visit www.sxsweco.com/speakers)The conference breaks down into eight sections: Behavior, education and health; business; climate change; design; energy; food and agriculture; land and water; and policy and activism. There will also be competitions, including the Startup Showcase and a Hackathon (both a nod to the tech-friendly environment of SXSW Interactive), plus Place by Design, centering on the creation and re-imagining of public spaces.
SXSW Eco 2013 runs October 7–9 at the Austin Convention Center, 500 E. Cesar Chavez. More info at www.sxsweco.com.
