File this under unwelcome trends: more local bomb threats in the wake of the Virginia Tech shooting.
Say the APD:
On 4/19/2007 at 2:09 AM, the Austin Police Department responded to a bomb threat at the Texas School for the Deaf, located at 1102 S. Congress Ave. The threat had been made over the telephone by an unknown person. Staff members at the school made the decision to evacuate two dormitories while a search was made for any suspicious devices or packages. A search was made and nothing suspicious was located. The students have all returned to the dormitories and police are no longer on-scene. The Austin Police Department is the lead agency in this investigation.
