Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic, a Texas tradition since 1972, will be held at Q2 Stadium this year. The music fest, headlined by Nelson & Family plus Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit and Tyler Childers, stands as the first standalone concert to be held at the ground of the Austin FC soccer team.

Also playing at the Independence Day event, running on Monday July 4, are Charley Crockett, Brothers Osborne, Midland, Allison Russell, Steve Earle & the Dukes, Particle Kid, and Asleep at the Wheel. Tickets go on sale the morning of April 15 at Q2stadium.com.

The show was announced Friday morning via a media event at Q2 where remarks were given by Austin FC President Andy Loughnane, who said the 20,738 seat stadium would host two to three concerts a year.

”We want to be the home of soccer. We also want to be the home of authentically inspired Austin-based acts,” he said. “This is perfect. I couldn't think of a better way to introduce Q2 Stadium into the conert world.”

Willie’s 4th of July Picnic had been held at Circuit of the Americas in recent years. Over the five decades before, it had been in a variety of Texas concert grounds including those in different cities. The event, which features 10 hours of music and, of course, fireworks, is once again being put on Live Nation.
