By Rachel Rascoe, March 15, 2019, 1:35pm, Earache!

SXSW Music enters its final stretch, but there’s no winding down.

El Paso star Khalid brought mellow, multi-platinum R&B to the Uber Eats installation yesterday. Virgil Abloh DJs the music and food integration today, followed by dominating indie-pop voice Billie Eilish on Saturday. Also last night, beloved rapper Lizzo was spotted dancing to Houston riser Megan Thee Stallion at Cheer Up Charlies.

After stopping by She Shreds’ showcase, the Minneapolis positivity-maker played Ticketmaster Music’s showcase at Stubb’s. Adorned by a fringed Americana getup and her unstoppable backup dancers, the singer-rapper brought out self-confidence hits like “Truth Hurts” and her trademark flute.

SXSW specials continued in star-studded music mashups.

Canadian collective Broken Social Scene invited SXSW 2018 breakout Maggie Rogers onstage during a set for their record label, Arts & Crafts, at Rainey’s Bungalow. The Pharrell-approved pop favorite sang along with bandleader Ariel Engle for 2002 biggie “Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl.” Meanwhile, Chvrches frontwoman Lauren Mayberry and Shirley Manson of Garbage collided at a speaker session yesterday. Legendary Chic co-founder Nile Rodgers and business partner Merck Mercuriadis spoke on the creation of Hipgnosis Songs Fund, a publicly traded music investment company. This morning, Adam Horovitz and Michael Diamond of the Beastie Boys chatted with Amazon Music's Nathan Brackett. The latter also moderated a semi-private chat with both about Ill Communication yesterday at Spoon drummer Jim Eno’s local studio..
