On Sunday, Feb. 17, Austin Chronicle Music muckraker Kevin Curtin and Riverboat Gambers/Drakulas frontman Mike Wiebe (pictured above, l-r) hosted the Austin Music Industry Awards, the fifth annual celebration of the behind-the-scenes talents – in the record stores and instrument shops, the recording studios and the press.
Nearly 20 awards, voted on by Austin Chronicle readers, were handed out during the packed-house celebration at Emo’s:

Best Local Label: Nine Mile
Best Ongoing Music Residency: Monday Night Bluegrass at Radio Coffee & Beer
Best Live Music Booker: Trish Connelly for Cheer Up Charlies
Best Live Music Venue: ACL Live at the Moody Theater
Best Music Support Nonprofit: Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM)
Best Music Festival: Austin City Limits Music Festival
Best Television/Film Composer: Graham Reynolds
Best Live Sound Engineer: Paul Minor
Best Music Writer: Rachel Rascoe
