East Cameron Folkcore Hit the Road

CD release party and tour send-off at the White Horse

East Cameron Folkcore packs a powerful punch. Thursday night, it packed the White Horse despite the rain. The evening was a CD release party for The Sun Also Rises and a tour send-off for a 10-day trek that takes the group across the Gulf Coast and through the Southeast.

East Cameron Folkcore's shows are passionate and feel like a family affair with the crowd often singing along. I enjoyed the addition of an enclosed patio to the White Horse since my last visit. See the photo gallery at right for shots from last night as well as a couple outtakes from a shoot I did with White Horse owner and East Cameron Folkcore banjo player, Denis O'Donnell for this story. Check out the new powerfully edited and politically charged video for "Sheep Staring at a Gun" below.
