Spotted at her album pre-launch party at Peche on Thursday with a copy of that day's daily issue of the Austin Chronicle: Bass heroine Melissa Auf der Maur (OK, so we gave it to her, but she very gamely struck the pose herself: Thanks, Melissa.)
Yes, don't forget that the hard-working writers, designers and proofers of your ever-lovin' Chron have been laboring hard into the wee small hours of the morning (and giving up on some serious partying) to bring you free daily issues jam-packed with music and film reviews, previews of the best showcases, blow-by-blows from panels, plus complete maps and schedules. Just look around town and you'll see them around.
Alternatively, you can still find everything online at our SXSW pages or you can even go mobile.
Read all about Auf der Maur's SXSW opening night showcase here. Don't worry, her Austin excursion isn't over yet. She'll be signing copies of her new comic (part of her new mixed-media project Out of Our Minds) at the South by Bookstore at the Convention Center today, March 20, at 1.30pm, followed at 2.30pm with a live interview on Studio SX.
A note to readers: Bold and uncensored, The Austin Chronicle has been Austin’s independent news source for over 40 years, expressing the community’s political and environmental concerns and supporting its active cultural scene. Now more than ever, we need your support to continue supplying Austin with independent, free press. If real news is important to you, please consider making a donation of $5, $10 or whatever you can afford, to help keep our journalism on stands.
