The Black & White Years’ eponymous, Jerry Harrison-produced debut is getting an Eastside Remix, courtesy of local DJs Manny, Bigface, and Claude 9. The collaboration comes to life on Saturday at the Compound (1300 E. Fourth St.) with performances from all parties involved and Austin’s Built by Snow.

Chris Davis of We Dream in Daylight, who was killed in a tragic bicycle accident in late September, is being honored on Saturday with an early show at Hole in the Wall, 7-9pm.

Down in San Marcos, the World United Music Festival & Radio Conference, presented by the Roots Music Association, kicks off on Friday. The three-day event packs in 150 bands, including Asleep at the Wheel, South Austin Jug Band, and Frank Carillo & the Bandelaros with Augie Myers, across eight stages, with a few panel discussions thrown in for good measure. Discounts are available for active duty military and students.
