Austin Public Library Hosts Cooking Day
Tasting event already sold out, a haute ticket

In a town thick with billionaires and profitable festivals, sometimes the hottest ticket is still free. With Cooking Day, Saturday, February 25, Austin Public Library has curated a fest for the culinarily inclined. February’s theme is “Eat the World,” and that event is at capacity. The two other events of the day are still open if you hurry.
Held at the transcendent Central location (like a museum, it has a gift shop!), Cooking Day starts with a community swap of cooking gear at 11am. Bring those whisks you no longer use and trade for an enormous potato masher. Manifest the silicone baking sheet liners you’ve always wanted into your life while ridding yourself of those citrus juicers taking up cabinet space. Bring your best old cooking tools and discover someone else’s. Do not bring anything rusty or broken.
Then at 1pm, APL will outline its delicious agenda for the Cooking Club Social, starting in March.
Then at 2pm, attendees at the sold-out Eat the World event will “enjoy a cooking demonstration featuring a traditional African American dish in celebration of Black History Month.
