More happiness for your hours, tough Wednesday decisions, and more in today's food news.
Bombay Sapphires Most Imaginative Bartender of North America Justin Lavenue and co-owner Dennis Gobis are extending the hours at The Roosevelt Room and introducing a new happy hour. Now life can feel a little more like the birthday scene in Waiting to Exhale. Deets are as follows: The bar is now open Mon.-Sat., 5pm-2am; the happy hour – featuring six cocktails at $6, $1 off beer, and $2 off wine – is 5-7pm.
The upcoming Geraldine’s is the new home for former Swift’s Attic pastry chef Callie Speer. Speer will continue to whip up edible warm fuzzies like a lemon buttermilk pie with apple butter and a cornflake crunch for the restaurant in the Hotel Van Zandt. The initial executive pastry chef, Kyle McKinney (ex Barley Swine), has moved on to new opportunities.
Gardner has a few more tickets left to its latest guest chef dinner on Wednesday, Sept. 23 with Jason Dady (San Antonio’s Tre Trattoria, Tre Enoteca, Two Bros BBQ, Shuck Shack). Meet Dady and Gardner chef Andrew Wiseheart at the opening reception. Full details are available online, but we will whisper a few ingredients of the dinner in your ear. Sultana. Suckling Pig. Kumamoto.
