The New Omelettry Now Open

Longtime fans flock to soft opening

Second generation Omelettry owner Jesse Carpenter thought he'd send out an email to a few hundred customers and some of them would show up for the "soft" opening he scheduled for Memorial Day weekend. Then social media took over.

Eager for a taste of their old favorites and a look at the landmark restaurant's new digs, people shared the email, tweeted about it, and posted it on Facebook. The Omelettry faithful showed up in droves, as did plenty of new customers.

It was trial by hungry crowd in a completely new facility. There was some excitement with potential flooding on Sunday and power outages Tuesday morning, but after three very busy "soft opening" days where the brand new kitchen turned out food for old and new customers, the reborn Omelettry is officially open for business.
