Don't be scared, boo; it's good to have options

At the Fall Creek Vineyards (www.fcv.com) Saturday Spook-tacular, enjoy a tasting of six Fall Creek and Twin Springs wines in souvenir glasses, tours, live music, a pumpkin decorating contest with prizes for adults and kids, and a gourmet picnic (by reservation only). $18 per person; make reservations at 325/379-5361. The folks at Circle Brewing (2340-B W. Braker) invite you to dress up for their Haunted Open House where they’ll have samples of new seasonal brews, brewery tours, and food trucks. Enjoy three free samples or full-size samples with the purchase of a $10 glass. Saturday, Oct. 29, noon-3pm.

Phara's Mediterranean Cuisine (111 E. North Loop) is hosting a Gala Masquerade Party featuring belly dancing, live Arabic music, and more. The event is BYOB, and costumes are optional. Call 632-7067 for reservations, or visit www.pharas.com for menu and more info. Saturday, Oct. 29, 6pm-12mid.

Coat & Thai food trailer (1600 S. Congress) hosts a Halloween bash with food, music, a surprise mystery guest. Come in costume! Saturday, Oct. 29, 8pm.

The Monster Masquerade at Becker Vineyards (www.beckervineyards.com) is an adults-only cocktail party with a cash wine bar, heavy appetizers, live music, and both costume and spookiest cake contests with cool prizes. All Halloween-themed cakes submitted for the contest must be edible because they will be auctioned off to the benefit the Good Samaritan Center of Fredericksburg. $25 per person; make reservations at 830/644-2681. Sunday, Oct. 30, 5-9pm.

The Mansion at Judges Hill (1900 Rio Grande) hosts a Haunted Ball featuring local food, craft beers, and designer cocktails to benefit the Sustainable Food Center. $50 per person; make necessary reservations at 495-1800. Sunday, Oct. 30, 7-10pm

Enjoy special Halloween dessert menus all weekend at Trace at the W Wotel (200 Lavaca) followed by a Halloween costume contest in the Living Room Bar emceed by DJ Mike Swing. Come in your best costume to win hotel stays and spa treatments. Monday, Oct. 31, 7pm

Drink Pink month wraps up at Opal Divine’s Freehouse (700 W. Sixth) with the annual Skaraoke Ball featuring plenty of pink drinks, costume and karaoke contests with cool prizes, karaoke with Joey Pescado, and performances by Jigglewatts Burlesque – all to benefit the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas. Donations accepted at the door. Monday, Oct. 31, 7pm

Manuels (www.manuels.com) hosts its Day of the Dead Celebration, benefiting Mexic-Arte Museum. Attractions include an altar viewing party (featuring one in honor of Steve Jobs) and special happy hour pricing. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 4-6pm.

Instead of Diá de los Muertos, celebrate Diá de la Dulce Vida at Contigo Austin (2027 Anchor) with Dulce Vida tequila cocktails, food, and signed posters and T-shirts to benefit the Wildfire Relief Fund. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 7-10pm
