Still figuring out how to celebrate this 4th of July? We've got a quick list of events that you're sure to enjoy whether your rolling with a 21 and over crowd or the whole family.
4th of July Water Park and Music Picnic
How often do you get to enjoy water slides on 6th street? We’re guessing not too often. Luckily the 4th of July Water Park and Music Picnic hosted by the North Door has you covered. The event starts at 2pm across the street from the North Door at 901 E. 6th St. Tickets are $5 for kids and $7 for adults. Did we mention the live music and dunk tank? Click here to find out more.
Freedom Feast by Bread & Circus Supper Club
Before the festivities kick off on the 4th, join the Bread & Circus Supper Club for the Freedom Feast at Palm Door on Sixth. On July 3rd at 7:30 pm, they will be serving a family style meal paired with beers from Austin Beer Works. Find more information here.
Yacht Rock and Blue - July 4th, 1983
We can’t think of many things that sound more awesome than an 80’s yacht themed 4th of July celebration. Go back in time at the Vulcan Gas Company and party DJ Mel and the Yacht Rock Revue at the ‘Merican dream Yacht Rock and Blue party. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 9pm. Show up dressed to party like it’s 1983!
Explosive Fiesta Del Dia de Independencia
Empire Control Room is hosting the Explosive Fiesta Del Dia de Independencia featuring Latin artists like Los Federales and La Vida Buena. Doors at 9 pm, show at 10 pm. Tickets are $5- $8 for this 21 and over event.
July 4th Austin Symphony Concert and Fireworks
For a family friendly celebration, The H-E-B Austin Symphony 38th Annual Concert and Fireworks is the Independence Day tradition you don’t want to miss. Hosted at the Circuit of the Americas, this is one of the largest 4th of July celebrations in Texas. Games and contest for the whole family start at 4 pm. The Austin Symphony starts playing at 8:30 pm followed by the fireworks show at 9:30 pm. Admission is free and lawn areas are open on a first come first served basis. Spider House Cafe and Ballroom will host it’s First Annual Fourth of July Casserole Cook Off at 8 pm. This is a free event and the winners of the cash prizes will be announced at 10 pm. This wouldn’t be an Austin event without live music so stick around to see the Karaoke Underground perform at 10:30 pm. Featuring Norm Wilkerson as the emcee, celebrity guest judges and surprise performances, this could be the start of a great tradition. Click here for more info on how to attend and enter the contest.
