The Daily Deck at the Common House

Josh Row illustrates 365 skateboards everyday for one year.

Last week I attended The Daily Deck at Common House, a local artist collective gallery featuring works from local artist and cooperatives.

The Daily Deck comes from the mind of local No-Comply skate shop owner, graphic designer, and illustrator, Josh Row. The task was to design a skateboard deck every day for a whole year. A task that seems like someone would start but never finish, however, Josh Row set a personal goal to complete this mission. The art of skateboard decks in not new, but Josh Row’s designs gives the art a fresh and original outlook. The decks are named by number and feature pop culture references, graphic designs, some of Row’s signature DANG! drawings and significant celebrations; there’s a deck for everyone.

My personal favorite is day #141 showing Macho Man Randy Savage “wrestle in peace”. You can view all 365 decks at www.thedailydeck.com or pick up a Josh Row deck at No-Comply Skate shop located at 812 West 12th St.
