No Control Radio Presents: Scratch Acid w/ When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth
Nicole's show pick for Saturday
By Nicole Wagner, 1:47PM, Fri. Dec. 9, 2011
We can enjoy alternative punk rock today because of the grit of Austin-born Scratch Acid and a handful of other Chicago bands. Formed in 1982 and split in 1987, members of Scratch Acid went on to became part of an impressive list of bands including Jesus Lizard, Sangre de Toro, Ministry, Helios Creed, the Didjits, Big Boys, Rapeman, and the Damnations.
Emo’s East this Saturday is one of only 9 shows in Scratch Acid’s reunion tour, along with December dates in California and the Pacific Northwest. After their US shows, they head to the UK to play the All Tomorrow’s Party, curated by Jeff Mangum of Neutral Milk Hotel and including performances by Fleet Foxes, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Sebadoh, The Magnetic Fields, and Robyn Hitchcock.
Don’t miss Scratch Acid this Saturday, December 10 at Emo’s East – may be one of the last times to see this band and some of its members play.
Doors at 9PM. More info and advance tickets available online.
