Manfest 2008 & Astronautalis

Manfest 2008 & Astronautalis

After attending Manfest 2008 yesterday I am trying to decide if I feel like more of a man or if I should feel like less of a man after seeing so many astounding displays of manliness over the course of the day. The good people at Bird's Barbershop and Party Ends.com put together a fantastic day celebrating all that is man.
Knife/axe throwing, arm wrestling, Sasquatch, beer, scotch, hot dogs, and fantastic live music from The Listener Project and The New Drugs (a Huey Lewis & The News cover band) made this day one to remember. I am pretty sure that I grew a few extra chest hairs to go with the six that I already had.

Pictures and video to come soon.

I also managed to catch The Paper Chase with Astronautalis on Friday night at Elysium. I have been a big fan of The Paper Chase for a while so it is no surprise that their show was great, but Astronautalis blew me away! It sounds silly but I would describe this one man rapping machine as a mix between Tom Waits and Eminem. At one point in the evening he busted out some freestyle covering Austin, arm wrestling, Christmas, and hurricanes in Florida, I really wish that I had gotten that recorded because it was jaw droppingly awesome. In addition to some amazing talent he is also an extremely nice guy. I'll most likely be using his music as the soundtrack for my Manfest video so keep and eye out for that. Oh yeah, I also got some fun pics of Astronautalis arm wrestling Dan Smith of the Listener Project so please, enjoy!

love & manliness,
-Logan
