A candy-themed runway and champagne awaits
By Anne Harris, 9:00AM, Fri. Apr. 25, 2014
Well, darn it. The Fashion PR Confidential event has been cancelled, so the secrets of Fashion PR will remain so. That's okay, as brunch beckons, which sounds much more satisfying.
See ready to wear looks by Elie Tahari, Valentines Too, and Estilo at Searsucker (415 Colorado St., 10am-noon) during a three-course brunch which benefits the Rise School of Austin. Ever-practical B-Zink unveils spring and summer handbags (1601 W. 38th #11, 11am-3pm) and pours champagne, while Hawkins Bucklew Handcrafted Jewelry Designs (11410 Century Oaks Terrace #104, 2-4pm) beckons uptown with a Sip and Shop. Maybe we should pace ourselves on the bubbly. Thank goodness, a parade of kids is up next. Millie & Mox host Sweet Fashion Parade, co-sponsored by Mini Melissa Shoes (5145 620 N., Ste. B-110, 3-5pm). The event promises "the sweetest models, delicious cupcakes from the Hey Cupcake! Airstream, and the hottest trends in children's fashion from around the world". They also have a candy-themed runway. Freshen up in time for AIAFTERDARK at The Art Institute of Austin, because the festivities there are top-secret, and will be announced, presumably, upon arrival.
