Sketch Your Way Down the Aisle
Jovani's bridal design contest has pencil lead flying
By Meghan Ruth Speakerman, 4:16PM, Wed. Nov. 16, 2011
Heads up fashion hounds, soon-to-be brides and wannabe designers! Jovani Designs, home of the whoa! prom dress, as well as crazy, glittery, pageant-wear goodness is having a contest for the best wedding dress sketch to be included in the upcoming 2012 bridal collection.
I came across this Jovani dress when a Facebook acquaintance was trying to win an evening gown in another one of Jovani’s contests to wear in her upcoming pageant. [Don’t hate: Pageants can be great for resumes and scholarships!]

Even if you don't plan to submit, browsing through the inventiveness and skill of so many aspiring designers is definitely worth your time. There is something about the soft lines and two-dimensional manikins in lace and ruffles I find to be almost soothing reminiscent of a young girl dreaming of her big day. The sheer talent of being able to eloquently share your visions on paper makes me envious for lacking the ability to even draw a circle. The winning design will be brought to life in Jovani’s 2012 bridal line not to mention the winner's $1000 credit for the Jovani dress(es) of their dreams. Want to own that number Katy Perry wore on the red carpet? You can! Hustle peeps! The contest ends this Friday, November 19th! Send your sketch to [email protected], along with the state or country you live in, the date, and your signature on the right-hand corner of your design. The winner will be determined by the number of votes their sketch receives on Facebook, so hurry and submit and tell your friends to vote!
