No-Comply paints the boards in its annual design contest
By Richard Whittaker, 1:36AM, Tue. Jul. 13, 2010
Everyone knows that Marty McFly invented skate boarding in November 1955, but it didn't get pretty until artists got their hands on the wood.
July 10 saw the second annual No-Comply board design contest at the US Art Authority, sponsored by local skate shop No-Comply and the Art Seen Alliance. The rules? The design had to fit onto a skateboard deck, and had to name-check the company name. Beyond that, the medium and the design were up to the artists.
The winning design by professional BMXer Taj Mihelich, which will now become a production deck.
Check out some of the other designs below (click on the images for a closer view.)
