• Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Harding is coming to town. He'll be at BookPeople Thursday, Sept. 19, 7pm, in support of his new novel, Enon, which "follows a year in the life of Charlie Crosby as he tries to come to terms with a shattering personal tragedy." Harding's debut novel (and the one for which he took home a Pulitzer), Tinkers, came out in 2009. You'll find complete event details at the BookPeople website.

• On Story: Screenwriters and Their Craft is now available for preorder. The Austin Film Festival book, edited by festival co-founder Barbara Morgan and longtime conference Director (and current Michener Center for Writers fellow) Maya Perez, is slated for release by University of Texas Press Oct. 15, just in time for the 20th anniversary AFF, which kicks off Oct. 24.

• Speaking of preorders, retail giant Amazon is finally helping e-readers and good-old-fashioned books coexist: A new program called Kindle MatchBook was announced this week that will let you purchase the Kindle edition of books you've purchased in print edition for a discounted rate (free-$2.99, depending). MatchBook launches in October, and it will include "your past, present, and future print-edition purchases."

• Submissions are now open for the 26th annual Lambda Literary Awards. New this year is the LGBT Graphic Novels category. Books published within the calendar year of 2013 are open for consideration; complete guidelines and submission materials are available on the Lambda Literary Foundation website.
