Well, this week, you needn't even leave Austin to travel across the country and in one case, across the globe. What week of the year doesn't Austin play host to a host of the world's best touring acts and personalities? Well, never, but this week in particular is mighty special, especialmente para mis queeras, featuring a visit to Kiss & Fly from Judy Shepard, mother of Matthew Shepard and fierce advocate for our safety and dignity. United Court brings her here for a royalty-packed fundraiser for the Matthew Shepard Foundation. We'll also be graced by an appearance at the Texas Union of trans-activist and Stonewall survivor Miss Major, who will regale with tales from the city, the other city, and beyond. Then there's a visit to the Cactus Cafe from pixie-plus/traveling troubadour Zoë Lewis, whose frequent treks to our Lone Star State make her almost a native, cute Brit lilt notwithstanding.
