Gay Place

Ahh, the bear necessities!

BEARLY AWARE We're thrilled as a grizzly in a honeypot to learn of California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's latest addition to the Sacramento scene: a very large bronze bear placed smack-dab in front of the public entrance to his office at the state Capitol. We always knew he had it in him. (See the Gay Place Blog, austinchronicle.com/gayplaceblog.) In related news, we're also thrilled to see Austin opening up such a plethora of bear-themed nights in local bars: Chain Drive, Rainbow Cattle Company, and Rusty Spurs all feature regular hurly-burly events. You don't even have to be a sleuth to find them (OK, that may be funny only to bear people); just check Gay Place! They are all over. And speaking of which: Next week, Gay Place's favorite warbling bruin, Nakia, will host his own debut CD release on Saturday, April 25, at Jovita's. Grrrrrrr!
