Hate Prop. 8? Stop bitching, and start lobbying.

LEGE-ITIMATE REASONS Hot on the heels of a big week for queer viz (wow, Sean Penn; wow, Dustin Lance Black; thank you – no really) is as good a time as any to stoke the flames of flaming activism. Yup, it's meet-your-Legislature time in Austin, and Equality Texas is gearing up for a busy season. How fitting that Equality Texas Lobby Day falls on Texas Independence Day. The great not-yet-state of Tejas had its "Remember the Alamo!" Likewise, the great, not-yet-equal state of queers has its "Remember Proposition 8!" So stop complaining, stop yakking, pull up those hose and/or tighten that full Windsor (only you can determine which option feels truest), and get out there, and look 'em in the eye, give 'em a big juicy smooch, and lobby your ass off.
