Public Notice

"Public Notice" is the sassy yet totally sincere public service column of the Austin Chronicle. This week is Part One of a list of community groups that need YOU!

The Party's Over

CAUTION: The utterance of the letters "S," "W," and "X" in the following order -- SXSW -- is strictly forbidden here in the offices of The Austin Chronicle. Utterance of said abbreviation has produced the shakes in some staff members ("Awwww, there, there, Raoul...") and violent outbursts in others ("Sarah! Put down that X-acto knife!"). Healing post-conference traumatic syndrome with total immersion and reintegration into parts of the community with no connection whatsoever to that four-lettered beast is highly recommended. Some get in touch with long-lost relatives, some get drunk, and some go birding. Others of us will simply focus on a part of Austin that makes us happiest, and here at "Public Notice," that, of course, would be our public service organizations, who, of course, are always in need of fresh blood and your time.
