There are at least two theories as to the origin of the term "raining cats and dogs." One: When people had houses with thatched roofs, cats and dogs who climbed on top would fall through if it rained. Two: In some mythologies, cats and dogs are associated with rain and wind.
The first Bible in Eskimo was printed in Copenhagen in 1744.
