The Driskill Hotel

The venerable grand dame of Austin hotels got a much needed facelift this year, and we have to say, she's never looked lovelier. From the meticulously restored ballrooms to the enlarged guest rooms, this favorite hotel for politicos from Governor Conally to LBJ appears to be good to go for another hundred years, at least. We just wish the walls could talk.
