Let there be light! On Wednesday night, Sept. 23, veteran Paramount Theatre usher Flo Thompson threw the switch that turned on all 1,386 bulbs in the re-creation of the Paramount's classic blade. Illuminating the sign was the, um, highlight of a celebration that included speeches from Paramount staff and dignitaries such as Sen. Kirk Watson, and music from the New Breed Brass Band. The energy-efficient LEDs in the new blade allow it to be powered by a single 110-volt plug.
